Neymar clearly loves Korea, as he didn’t play a single minute in the three games of the Japan tour, but started in South Korea and was influential throughout.
PSG beat Jeonbuk 3-0 in the third leg of their Coupang Play series at Busan Asiad Stadium at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, with Neymar’s multi-goal performance and a Marco Asensio brace.
Lee Kang-in came on as a 24th-minute substitute in the second half and played around 20 minutes.
With Lee on the bench, Neymar surprisingly got the start. Neymar, who missed all three friendlies in Japan – against Al Nasr on July 25, Cerezo Osaka on July 28, and Inter Milan on July 1 – started in Busan.
PSG played shaky defense against Jeonbuk and countered with Neymar’s dribbling runs. Neymar’s dribbling often created space for other PSG players as the Jeonbuk defense swarmed around him.
Neymar seemed to create scoring chances with his bold breaks. In the 20th minute, Neymar exchanged one-touch passes with Hugo Ekitiqe and entered the Jeonbuk box, where he collided with Jeonbuk defender Petrasek and went down in the box. Neymar won over many Korean fans with his great fan service and serious attitude during his visit to Brazil last June. The Brazilian and PSG star showed his true colors in Korea.
