Harry Kane only wants Bayern Munich.
European soccer transfer market expert Rudi Galletti, who works for Italian outlet Sport Italia, wrote on social media on Monday (April 18), “Kane only wants Munich, there’s no doubt about it. As reported in January, Kane already has a verbal agreement with Munich and wants to join them.”
Kane’s move to Munich is heating up. Kane, who scored 30 goals in the English Premier League (EPL) last season, is a Tottenham ace and legend. As Tottenham’s all-time leading scorer and England’s all-time leading scorer, Kane’s status is unassailable.
However, there is one oddity in his career that is irrelevant. Kane has yet to win a trophy in his career, and it’s always been an irrelevance. A move to Munich, a club that collects trophies almost every season, could very well make up for Kane’s lack of trophies.
Munich have already made two offers for Kane. According to David Onstead of The Athletic, the Bavarians made a formal offer of €70 million ($99.6 million) for Kane on July 28. However, Tottenham rejected the offer and maintained that they would not sell unless it was for £100 million.
Despite the rejection of the first offer, Munich did not give up. European soccer transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, who also worked for the UK’s The Guardian, wrote on social media on Tuesday, “Munich have made a second offer for Kane. The amount is 80 million euros ($113.9 billion) with options.
The reason Munich are so desperate to sign Kane is because they need a striker. Ahead of last season, the Bavarians sold inconsistent striker Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona. His replacement, Erik Maxim Choupo-Moting, exceeded expectations in the front line last season, but he’s not quite the same as Lewandowski. 메이저놀이터
In addition to Kane’s goalscoring prowess, Munich will also be looking for his influence in the attack. Kane is a natural goalscorer, but he also enjoys dropping into the second line and linking up with his teammates or creating plays himself. It’s this style of attacking influence that Munich desperately wants.
But Tottenham won’t let him go that easily. The Bavarians made an offer of €80 million on Tuesday. However, according to Sky Sports, “Tottenham are preparing to reject Munich’s €80 million offer plus an option,” and are unwilling to part with Kane.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is weighing in. Levy, who is also the chairman of Tottenham, is known for his ‘salty business’. When it comes to selling his players to other teams, he’s known for his tenacious negotiations, and when it comes to buying players, he’s all about getting them at a bargain price. Unsurprisingly, Levy is unlikely to sell Tottenham’s most iconic player, Kane.
