Red chants for victory echo through Gwanghwamun Square at dawn on Sept. 9.

The Korea U-20 National Team, led by head coach Kim Eun-joong, will play Italy in the semifinals of the FIFA U-20 World Cup Argentina 2023 at 6 a.m. KST on Sept. 9 at La Plata Stadium in La Plata, Argentina.

The Korea Football Association announced on Monday that it will hold a street cheer at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul from 5 a.m. on the 9th to support the national team against Italy in the FIFA U-20 World Cup Semifinals. The match will take place at 6 a.m.

Prior to this, the Jongno District Office in Seoul held a deliberation committee on the afternoon of the 8th and finally approved the street cheer. The U-20 World Cup street cheer, organized by the national team’s supporters, the Red Devils, is supported by the Korea Federation of Businessmen and Entrepreneurs, the Seoul Metropolitan Government, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. 메이저사이트

It will be the first time in about seven months that a street cheer has been held in Gwanghwamun Square since the three group stage matches and the Round of 16 match against Brazil in Qatar last November.

Previously, large-scale group cheers were held at the U-20 World Cup. This is the sixth time that Park Joo-young’s performance has been honored at the tournament, following the group stage match against Brazil in 2005, the three group stage matches and the round of 16 match against Portugal in 2017 when the tournament was held in Korea, and the final match against Ukraine in 2019.
