South Korea clashes with Thailand, Iran and India in U-17 Women’s Asian Cup final qualifiers

The Korean U-17 women’s soccer team will face Thailand, Iran and India in the final qualifiers for the 2024 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-17 Women’s Asian Cup.

On the afternoon of the 18th, the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup final qualifier draw was held at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

As a result of the draw, Korea was placed in Group A with Thailand, Iran and India. Group B includes Australia, Bangladesh, Vietnam and the Philippines.

Japan, the winner of the 2019 tournament, North Korea in 2nd place, China in 3rd place, and Indonesia, the host country, have already qualified for the finals without the final preliminary round.

A total of eight teams will participate in the 2024 AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup, which will be held in Indonesia from April 7-20, 2024.

The Korean U-16 women’s national team, led by head coach Kim Eun-jung, defeated both Tajikistan (16-0) and Hong Kong (12-0) in the first round of the tournament held in Tajikistan last month, and advanced to the final round as the first place in the group.
