Hanwha snaps eight-game losing streak with win over LG.
Hanwha won 5-3 against LG in the 2023 KBO League on Monday at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul. The win snapped an eight-game losing streak and moved them into ninth place, one game ahead of Kiwoom.
Hanwha opened the scoring in the second inning with an RBI single by Jang Jin-hyuk, and Noh Si-hwan hit his 30th home run of the season with a two-run shot over the left field fence in the sixth. He is the first Hanwha hitter to hit 30 homers in five years since Lee Sung-yeol and Ho Ying in 2018.
Sanchez, who threw 92 pitches over six innings, dominated the LG lineup with three hits, six strikeouts and no walks. But in the eighth inning, reliever Jang Si-hwan gave up a three-run homer to Park Hae-min to tie the game at 3-3.
Hanwha loaded the bases against LG closer Ko Woo-seok in the top of the ninth, and Lee Jin-young regained the lead with an RBI single to left to make it 5-3.
